CDA STATEMENT ON FTC ANNOUNCEMENT BLOCKING AEROJET ACQUISITION BY LOCKHEED

Today’s announcement by the FTC that the proposed Aerojet Rocketdyne acquisition by Lockheed Martin, is going to be blocked, is excellent news. It is clear that there is a new era in antitrust enforcement, actual enforcement. I applaud the FTC and all of the commissioners who took this bold stance against the never ending consolidation plaguing this nation.

If America is going to beat our global challengers in missile development, it is going to be through innovation and competition, not a marketplace domination by a single defense contractor.
